Have you heard that you must be doing social media?
Are you looking for the best company to help you in Edinburgh?
In this penultimate post on the best of Edinburgh series we look at social media management agencies in Edinburgh.
When I speak to businesses they ask me about social media and how important it is. My answer is always the same and it goes something like this.
Social media is just a small part of your marketing strategy and social media on its own won’t increase sales and revenue for your business.
Don’t get me wrong social media is important but you need a website that is build for inbound and can convert the website visitors you receive.
Social media is great for promoting your content, engaging with customers and prospects and building brand affinity. However you first must have your sales process working on your website, otherwise the traffic you receive will just leave and not convert.
Also you need to have great content to promote that gets people talking and sharing. Helpful content that answers peoples most asked sales questions.
How to tell a good social media consultant
I have taken a slightly different approach when finding good social media companies in Edinburgh because I believe a lot of social media management has to be your responsibility.
Social media is all about communication and building relationships and there are no better people to do this for your company than you.
This is why the businesses I have listed are the ones that understand this and offer social media workshops. This can be done remotely or on your premises.
These agencies will teach you how best to use social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and teach you how to respond to negative comments and how to engage with your target audience.
Many businesses have been reluctant to start with social media marketing as it can be difficult to measure ROI.
My response to this is how do you measure ROI on customer service?
As this is what social media is, but in saying that with tools like HubSpot you can easily measure how many leads and sales social media is bringing you, as you really should be measuring this.
Social media can be a huge time sink and you must be able to measure its return.
When looking for a good agency it can be tempting to go to their Facebook page and see how many likes they have.
Don’t use Facebook likes as a determination of a good agency.
Take Stargazer Digital for example we know that for a B2B business like ourselves Facebook is not the best place to engage with our target market so our Facebook page is not as active as out Twitter stream, which bring us a lot of business.
Also focusing on the number of likes or followers won’t tell you much either. It is better to have 100 likes or followers who are engaged than 1,000 that are not.
Likes and followers are a terrible metric to focus on.
So take a look of some of the social media companies in Edinburgh that I found that offer workshops.
Social Ant offers social media workshops in Edinburgh and offer 25% off to Scottish businesses. They work with businesses to help them focus on effective social media campaigns.
Jennifer Tough founded social Stampede in 2012 and they have worked with a wide range of clients in a range of sectors, including hospitality and healthcare. I particularly like this company because they have some really great content on their blog. A sign of a good company is if they offer helpful information on their blog.
Social Media Meetup
This last one I’m kind of cheating a little bit as this isn’t really a company and more of a network meeting. Edinburgh has some great meetups and I thought I would mention the social media one.
Just in case you fancied going along to one and meet like minded businesses that like to share their knowledge and experiences.
For the most part social media is something that should not be outsourced however there are some good companies in Edinburgh that offer social media workshops that can help you get started.
If you commit to at least 30 minutes a day on your social media management you can see some great results.
Now it’s your turn
