What’s an IP address and why do I want to exclude it? An IP address is an address your internet service provide assigns to you to identify you on the internet.

This address can be added to Google analytics so when you visit your website these visits and actions are not counted in Google analytics.

This is great if you spend a lot of time on your website and it can give you more exact data on the behaviour of the visitors to your website.

If you are doing this for a client don’t forget to let them know as this may show a dip in traffic to their website.

This short video below will answer the question, “Can I exclude my IP address from Google analytics?” and show you how to do it. Don’t worry it is a very simple process.
